    Kohl’s please!!!

  3. Nikki says:

I would like to see an ALDI’S grocery store. They have great prices and very good food. I believe it would go over well in a college town…

  4. angela says:

Please bring a Super Target to this town!

  5. Anonymous says:

    Whole foods?

  6. SM says:

    Target, Kohl’s, and Academy PLEASE!!

  7. Stephanie says:

WE NEED A MALL!! or at least a Target.

  8. Linda says:

I would love to see a pet smart, it has a better selection of stuff than petco. I would also like to see an office depot come in and give staples some competition as well as a home depot.

  9. JLP says:

We desprately need a Kohl’s, Academy, Shoe Carnival, Best Buy, and Dillards. The amount of shopping in Stillwater does not make it a major attraction. If an actual mall was put in town instead of all the strip malls spread out all around town, it would be nicer for shoppers.

  10. Jared says:

I believe that a Sam’s Club would be a great business for Stillwater, with the amount of large quantities supplies that are bought through to OSU a Sam’s club would not have any problem making a large profit.

  11. John says:

    academy sports & outdoors

  12. Rachel Dillin says:

Target – Super Target. Also, a Kohls would be fantasic. Please get a Sams club as well. Aldi. We love Aldi.

  13. Southern Woods says:

    Target! R.E.I.! Reasor’s! Trader Joes!

  14. Brett Swanson says:

I would love to see a Target Superstore go over by the new Walmart. Target just seems right, especially since so many of the people I know complain not having one here in Stillwater.

  15. Susan Prines says:

A Kohls in Stillwater would be amazing. This department store would be a remarkable addition to our community as we approach the 50,000 mark in population. Kohls is a very popular store and there are many in Oklahoma as well as all around the country. They seem to do well – I have never heard of one of their stores closing. I would REALLY love to see one in Stillwater – across from the 51 west Wal-Mart would be a perfect location.

  16. Anonymous says:

    Academy, Target or TJ Maxx.

  17. Andrea Graves says:

Why does Stillwater have TWO Super Walmarts but NO OTHER store such as Target? We absolutely need a Target or somewhere else to shop besides Walmart. Walmart has been slowly reducing the amount of products they carry and pushing the local companies out.

Another choice for groceries would be ideal as well. How about Reasors? They are an Oklahoma company and do a great job of bringing in better quality products than Walmart.

PLEASE bring these two into Stillwater!!!! I am begging!

  18. JB says:

Bed, Bath and Beyond, Kohls, Eddie Bauer and Home Depot!!!

  19. Cindy says:

Kohl’s would be great! Definitely a Target to give Wal-Mart a run for it’s money.

  20. Mary says:

Oh…and another grocery choice. With WalMart going house brand it is frustrating.

  21. Mary says:

TARGET is a MUST HAVE! Home Depot – need some choices when remodeling and landscaping. Kohl’s or SteinMart. All on the west side near new WalMart.

  22. Dawn says:

    Target and Aldi!!!!!!!

  23. Donna Carpenter says:

I agree with so many others that we need another decent priced place for groceries. I have never been to a costco but hear they are great. The store I love most though is Aldi’s. I drive to Ponca or Tulsa to go to this store. It is worth it because it is so cheap. It is a real discount grocery store with some name brand products and many of its own brand. Most things there are wonderful and at a much lower cost which is great for college students as well as everyone else in these trying economic times.

We definitely need a Target. I think this college town could easily support one. We lived in Ames, IA which is about the same size as Stillwater and Target was always busy there. A H.E.B. food store would be great!

  25. Kristy says:

KOHLS, KOHLS, KOHLS! They have such a great selection of children’s clothing, women’s clothing, and men’s clothing and they are always very well priced. I would do a happy dance in the middle of Theta Pond if we got a Kohls!

  26. Tiffani says:

ok i forgot about Whole Foods!! that would be incredible I absolutely love that place and Sams club would also be a hit.

  27. Tiffani says:

Definitely Target or a Best Buy!!!! If we can support 2 Walmarts, we can support a Target!!

  28. Anonymous says:

BREWPUB!!! What kind of college town is it that doesn’t have a brewpub (or several)?

  29. Anonymous says:

TARGET TARGET TARGET!!! I promise to spend all of my disposable income there —if they build it, WE WILL COME!
    A Kohl’s would be nice :)

  30. Stephanie says:

I 100% agree that Stillwater could support a better grocery store. I would be ecstatic if a Whole Foods, Earth Fare, or Fresh Market opened here. However, I would even be pleased with Kroger or Publix. We definitely need a better grocery store!!

  31. Abigail M. says:

I agree that Academy Sports and Outdoors would do great in Stillwater. There are so many campsites around the Stillwater area such as Lake Carl Blackwell and the Ponca City Lake and many college students, like myself, love camping. It would also greatly compliment many college student’s active lifestyles.

I would also like to suggest the following stores:

    Books-A-Million/ Barnes and Nobel/ Borders
    Sam’s Club
Bed, Bath, & Beyond (since Linen’s N’ Things is now no more because they went under as a whole)
    Target
Victoria’s Secret (there are really no stores here that sell good bras for us ladies).

  32. Toni says:

Whole Foods, Academy and Sam’s Club. For someone looking for more healty organic choices, Whole Foods is the only full scale grocery store that I know of. There is one in Tulsa and possibly one coming to OKC. Stillwater should support a Whole Foods being located midway between these cities. Academy should be a great compliment to the OSU Colvin Center and the active lifesyles of the college students. Everybody I know shops at Sam’s Club. Again, being located midway between Tulsa and OKC I think a Sam’s would be well supported.

  33. Abigail M. says:

First off, Whole Foods, Whole Foods, Whole Foods! The ONLY Whole Foods organic grocery store in Oklahoma is in Tulsa and it is frustrating to have to drive there just to get good quality foods. Now, something you must think about is that with a Whole Foods Grocery Store, not only would you be getting business from local health nuts but, you would also get a lot of business from health nuts in the Drumright, Cushing and Perkins areas who are sick and tired of making such a long drive just to get organic foods. Believe me when I say that I went to Cushing HS and I worked at a gymnasium in Drumright and knew so many people like myself who desperately wanted the option to eat healthy and organic without having to shop at multiple grocery stores because Food Pyramid might have a few items but to get a certain item they might have to go to Walmart, and then they needed some other item that was at Consumers… It is really hard to eat organic and to find Vegan friendly, gluten-intollerant friendly, and non-high-fructose corn syrup foods in the average grocery store. I am not at all worried about it not getting enough business.

  34. Shonda Brisco says:

There seems to be a collaboration among some businesses to “build together” which would be a wonderful addition to this construction site. Kohl’s, Target, Best Buy, Michael’s, Home Depot, and smaller businesses have been built together in communities in north Texas (near Fort Worth, Weatherford (TX), etc.) Stillwater needs to keep customers IN Stillwater— not Edmond, OKC, or Tulsa. Surrounding communities need more variety and this option would provide a “one-stop, stay and shop” for Stillwater. This is a MUST for continual growth, as well as new employment options.

  35. Matt says:

Target would be great, and I heard we are getting a Best Buy. Stillwater very much needs a Guitar Center. There is only one music store in all of Stillwater that povides overpriced instruments and poor service.

    • Abigail M. says:

I like the idea of a music store in Stillwater other than the small Daddyo’s we already have, but instead of a “Guitar Center” that would only cater to a small nitch, why not a music store such as Saied Music Company. Not only do they carry quality guitars, drum sets and keybords/pianos, but they also carry band instruments such as clarinets, bassoons, oboes, trombones etc, and thus would provide not only guitars for the average player or local rock band but also good quality instruments for our HS band players, and our OSU band players. Do you know how much of a pain it is as a clarinet player to have to drive to Tulsa every time you want a certain brand of reeds? Saied would be the much better option compared to say, a Guitar World.

  36. Sam says:

Ace Hardware…. I’ve seriously looked over the options of opening an Ace Hardware in Stillwater but all the retail locations possible in Stillwater are to small considering it needs to be 20-25000 square feet. To buy land makes it impossible at that point. Even with DDevelopment’s project I belive Ace would still be better situated on it’s own.

  37. Amy says:

I think that this town could use an Aldi. For those of you who don’t know what Aldi is, it’s a very inexpensive grocery store chain that is internationally known. Their produce is usually local and whatever is in season, and they have very good products. Currently we are making a trip a week to Edmond or Ponca City to go to Aldi because we save that much money in groceries. I think it would do well because of how cheap it is, and because we have so many international students who would recognize the chain for it’s low prices and environmentally friendly practices.

In addition to that it would be nice to have all of these massive places come in but then what happens to the smaller businesses that we have in Stillwater? What happens to Chucks paint and paper or the paint place when we bring in a Home Depot? I agree that Stillwater needs more to do, but I would hope that Stillwaters small businesses wouldn’t have to suffer because of it.

  38. Sara says:

TARGET!!!! It doesn’t even have to be a Super Target, although that would be ideal. Anything is better than Wal-mart! I was recently pregnant and they don’t even sell ANY maternity clothes in the entire city of Stillwater. How is that possible??? Getting a Target/Kohl’s would solve that problem. I would also like to see a Best Buy, a Kohl’s and a Toys R Us and/or Babies R Us. It’s hard to find time to travel an hour away to buy things when you have a little one. The stuff at Wal-mart is so cheaply made that I worry my child will get hurt using them.

  40. Anonymous says:

TJ Max, Best Buy, Kohls, or a Whole Foods or some kind of nice grocery store.
And certainly Target!!!- but I thought that was supposed to be going west of Walmart.

  41. K-man says:

    TJ MAXX,Best Buy,Sam’s

  42. Colleen says:

Having moved here from the Dallas metroplex, there are two stores that we really miss having – Target and Academy.

Academy Sports would have HUGE success in Stillwater. There are three groups of customers who would bring business here – college students, youth sports teams and area outdoorsmen (hunting and fishing).

  43. Steve says:

Ultimate Electronics, NOT Best Buy – they’re only a half step above WalMart in terms of quality!

  44. anonymous says:

A fresh Market/whole foods/wild oats type place, and target.

  45. Anonymous says:

Absolutely on Target, definitely needed. Also agree with Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I am most desperate for some options in grocery stores as the selection in Stillwater is quite poor. I would absolutely support Kroger or Publix. I don’t know if Stillwater would be able to support a higher quality store but a Fresh Market or Whole Foods would be phenomenal!

  46. anonymous says:

definitely need a victorias secret there is no place in this town you can you get lingerie. and what college girl wouldnt support it.

  47. Kate says:

Target – their housewares and kids’ clothes are way better than Wal-Mart’s. A Super Target would be even better. I drive to Edmond to shop at their Super Target – I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Agree on Kohls, Kroger, a sporting goods store, and more clothing options for women. A toy store would come in handy too. I spend a lot of $ shopping online and in other cities due to lack of options here.

  48. SM says:

A place for nicer clothes, a place for sporting goods, a toy store that would give us a good selection, a place for infant/maternity needs (I had to drive to Tulsa when I was pregnant just to find clothes), another large discount store that is NOT another Walmart. . .
